PATRIOTIC FUND CONCERT.

A generous programme has been prepared for the concert to be given in the Town Hall to-morrow evening by the Professional Orchestra under the auspices of the Mayor's Patriotic Relief Fund Committee. Although it is notorious that collections never realise a sum worthy of the quality of the concert, it has been decided *by the committee to try the experiment of making no fixed charge, it being of opinion that the nature of the object of the concert will ensure a handsome addition to the fund, without the necessity of offending the susceptibilities of those who object to Sunday charges. The items by the orchestra will include Tschaikowsky's "1812" Overture and the " Marche Slave," the "Three African Dances" (Ring), and Dvorak'^ " Humoreske. "< Mr. Hamilton Hodges will render, with full orchestral accompaniment, Handel's "famous aria, " Why do the Nations," from "The Messiah."
