TURKEYS ENTRANCE INTO THE FRAY WAS EXPECTED BY THE ALLIES ALL PREPARATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE.
CBj Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) (Receivod October 31, 2 p.m.) LONDON, 30th October. The Times, in a leader, says :—"Turkey's sudden entrance into the fray was fully expected. The Allies are quite ready, and have been ready for a long time. All preparations liave been made in Egypt, along the banks of the Suez Canal and on the Sinai Peninsula, for possible developments. Greece, too, is ready, as Turkey will soon be destined to discover. 3y her foolish yielding to tho instigations of Germany, Turkey has pronounced her doomj the Ottoman Empire in Europe will soon be merely a memory. Since the Turke have resolved on their own destruction, we do not regret their appearance in the ranks of the combatants. It means that when the mighty struggle w over Europe will be rid of two factors which for over fifty years have been the chief menaces to the peace of the world."
