ITALY & GERMANY & AUSTRIA

FEELING IN BERLIN AND VIENNA LATTER CITY IS FULL OF OPEN FEARS (Times and Sydney Sun Services.) (Received October 17, 8 a.m.) LONDON, 16th October. A correspondent who toured the Austrian frontier and Italy states that there is a strong feeling in favour of neutrality, the Italians considering that the longer they wait tho stronger they i#ill be, as the weaker their potential enemy becomes. Austria and Germany are doing all in their power to avert giving Italy grounds for war. In Vienna and Berlia the name of Italy is scarcely mentioned without execration, but the press of both capitals have been schooled not to disclose this attitude. Vienna is full of open fears. The spirit of the people has been cruelly chastened by the total failure of the proud Imperial arms against little Servia. The fortifying of the capital proceeds apace. Austria now puts all her trust in Germany.
