For Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji, per Main Trunk train, 11 a.m. For Australian States and South Africa, to connect with Maheno at Auckland (due Sydney 23rd October), and Pago Pago, Satnoa, and Honolulu; also United States of America, Canada, Central America, and West Indies, via San Francisco; also United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, to connect with Ventura at Sydney (due San Francisco 12th November and London 22nd. November), per Main Trunk train, 11 a.m. Mails for Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji close at Auckland, on Monday, 10th October, at 8 45 a.m. Mails for Australian States and South Africa, also Pago Pago, Samoa, Honolulu, United States of America, Canada, Central America. West Indies, United Kingdom, und Continent of Europe (to connect with the Ventura at Sydney), close at Auckland, per Maheno, on Monday, 19th October, at 4 p.m. The advertised times for closing mails by steamers are liable to alteration (earlier or later) at any moment. Parcels for despatch by steamers and trains, with the exception of the usual Ferry steamers for Southern Offices, close at the Chief Post Office, Wellington, one hour before the advertised times of closing of mails. As the last clearance of the City receivers is made at 6 p.m. on Saturdays, all correspondence for the Sunday night Auckland express must be posted at the Chief Pos>t Office not later than 8 p.m. on Sunday. The Parcel Mail per Main Trunk Express closes at the C.P.O. at 10.30 a.m., and for the South per Ferry Steamer at 6 p.m. The public are earnestly requested to register all letters containing money or valuables intended to be sent by post. All books and sample packets nnd newspapers for places within the Dominion must be posted half an hour before the ordinary letter mail closes. All the principal mails by train and steamer close at Te,Aro and Courtcnay-place Post Offices at the same hours as at the Chief Post Office, with the exception that there is no latefee clearance, and that mails by the ferry stc-aTners for Southern Offices close at 0 p.m Malls for Auckland and Auckland District per Second Main Trunk Express close at Cotirtenayplace at 0 p.m. and Te Aro 8 p.m. Unless otherwise specilied, registered letters and parcels post packages must be hauded in and money orders obtained one hour before the ordinary mail closes.
