BASEBALL
V.M.C.A. CLUB. There was an enthusiastic meeting of the V.M.C.A. Club last evening. Mr. S. Moore (secretary of the league) was in the chair. On the motion of Mr. Firth, seconded by Mr. Varney, it was decided to form a baseball club. The following officers were elected i — President, Hon. J. G. W. Aitken } vice-presi-dent to be elected by the committee ; club captain, Mi*. M. 0. J^c-h^ston. ; Management Committee) Messrs. E. M. Ryan, W. S. Land, E. Threadgill, M. 0. Johnston, and H. Firth } hon. secretory and treasurer, Mr. H. Firth. The teams will play under the Y.M.C.A.'s registered colours— black, scarlet and gold. It was reported . that at least one senior and three boys' teams would be entered for tire competitions. It was decided to practice on the Basin Reserve each evening^ and that the first combined field practice be held at the "Soccer" Park, Kilbirnie South, 1 next Saturday. • • The Management Committee meets next Thursday.
