SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY

♦ The seventy-third anniversary of the Wesley Sunday School was continued last evening, wlipu the annual tea and demonstration was held. About 400 sat down to tea, the tables of which were prettily- decorated by the boys and girls of the school. The prize table was decoratpd by Raymond Cartel- and Redvevs Haymes ; second prize, Eileen Beggs and Ora White; highly commended, Phyllis Barratt and Mavis Skinner. The demonstration was held in the church, at which/ there was a, large attendance. The popular children's choir acquitted itself creditably. Although the familiar face of the conductor, Mr. If. Billman, with the baton was missed, owinp to his departure for England early in the year (Mr, Billman conducted for about ihivtyfive years) tha work of the anniversary reflected great credit on Mr. Elunde'l Strong as musical conductor. Two special attractions of the evening we an interesting demonstration by the priiiv-vry department, working on the Archibald system (a- teacher tor three bchoiars), under Mr. George Tiller and his statf, and a recitation in character by .nine girls — Christian, .Queenie Tipliiig ; Mercy, Eileen Beggs-, Faith, Winnie Peters ; Hope, Joy Sutherland ; Love, Gladys Carter ; Peace, Zeta Pasche ; Joy, Phyllis Barratt j Libert}, Marie Alanthel; Glory, Ora. White. Mr. J. Kerehaw, an ex-superintendent of the school, occupied the chair. The officers for the ensuing year are as follow :—Superintendent, Mr. C. H. Barratt; secretary, Mr. L. J.. Brabin; assistants, Messrs. W. B. Strong, H. Heyhoe^C. Fiebig, F. Turner ; treasurer, Mi-. lT Travers ; librarian, Mr. W. A. Grenfell ; assistants. Messrs. G. Kuchen, J. Ralph, I. Irvine ; musical conductor, Mr. Bhmdel Strong ; organists, Miss B. Brittain and Mr. Bert Gardiner; pianist. Miss Carter: S.S. Union representative, Mr Chinchen ; auditor, Mr. J. Kellow.
