PENSIONS GRANTED
The number of old-age pensions granted in Wellington during the quarter ended 30th September was fifty-one. Twentyfour other applications were refused, and seven are still pending. The number granted at Petone was four, and at Lower Hutt three. Three were refused at Petone, and two at Lower Hutt. Six pensions were granted widows in the city, one at Petone, and one at Lower Hutt. Three such pensions were refused in Wellington.
Yesterday was the last day on which it was possible to enrol on the main electoral rolls. The freehold property of the KclburnKarori 'Bus Company, in BelU-street, Karori, with the garage and three motor'buses, was sold by Messrs. J. H. Bethune and Co. yesterday, under instructions from the liquidators, of the company. The whole property was sold in one lot, as a going concern, Io Mr. Thomas Ward, for £1100.
