PRICES NOT SO FIRM. (IT TELE6RAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATieit.) CHRISTCHURCH, 7th October. At the Addington yards to-day there were larger entries of store and fat sheep and fat cattle. There was a good attendance. The entry of fat cattle showed much improvement in quality Over last -week's. Competition was good, an export buyer operating in prize cattle, but prices were hardly as firm. There was a better sale for fat lambs, though prices were not quite equal to those of last week for prime lambs. Fat j sheep were par to Is easier. j Store sheep quotations are : — Best hoggets, 15s to 16s 3d ; fair to medium, 14s to 14s 6d ; very_ medium, 12s to 12s 6d ; small and inferior, 10s; best ewe hoggets, 18s 6d to 20s Id ; fair ewe hoggets, to 17s; small and inferior, 13s 7d ; good conditioned ewes with forward lambs, 13s 6d (all counted) ; fairly good ewes with lambs. 11s 9d (all counted) : aged ewes with lambs, 8s 9d (all counted) ; aged merino ewes with lambs, 5s 3d (all counted) ; forward four-tooth wethers, 19s to 20s ; forward two and four-tooth wethers, to 19s; four and six-tooth I wethers, 18s sd ; two-tooth wethers, 17s 6d. Fat Lambs.— -Best made 18s 6d to 21s 9d ; and lighter 16s 9d to 18s. Fat Sheep. — Extra prime wethers, to 395 ; prime, 27s to 34s 6d ; others, 22s to 26s 6d ; prime ewes, 2Ss to 34s 3d ; others, 19s 3d to 24s 6d ; shorn ewes, 24s to 26s 3d; hoggets, 14s to 255 ; merino wethers, 20s lOd to 27s 6d. Fat Cattle.— Ordinary steers, £7 ' 17s 6d to £12 ; extra to £20 ss ; ordinary heifers, £6 10s to £8 10s ; extra to £14 ; ordinary cows, £6 to £8 ; extra, to £14 17s 6d. Price of beef per 1001b, 35s to 455. Store Cattle.— Yearlings, 30s to £2 (the latter good) ; 15 to 18-months, sorts, £2 10s to £3 ; two-year steers, £2 10s (good) ; two-year heifers, £3 12s to £4 ; three-year heifers, £4 19s 6d , dry cows, ! 35s to £6 ; dairy cows, £3 10s to £10. j Fat Pigs.— Choppers, 60s to 100s ; I extra heavy baconers, to 80s ; heavy baconers, 67s to 755 ; lighter, 52s 6d to 67s ; price per lb, 6d ; heavy porkers, 42s to 465; lighter, 36s to 40s; price per lb, 6d to 6^d. Store Pigs. — Large stores, 33s to 395 ; medium, 25s to 325 ; small, 18s to 245 ; weaners, lkis to 17s 6d.
