BOWLING

♦ WELLINGTON CLUB'S OPENING. The official opening of the Wellington Bowling Club's season will take place at the greens, Aro-street., on Saturday afternoon, at 2 o'clock. The playing areas are in splendid condition, and, given a fine day, the opening function should be as successful as those of previous years. Afternoon tea will be provided for lady friends, and a strong band will play during the afternoon. The tea-tables will be decorated by pot plants, which have been generously donated to the club by the daughter of one of the members, and these %yill be submitted to auction during the afternoon, the proceeds going to the Patriotic Fund.
