WALTER KIRBY CONCERT

.«. The Wellington musical public are to have a further opportunity of hearing Mr. Walter Kirby, the famous tenor, who recently sang here in "Samson and Delilah." At the desire of numerous friends, he is delaying his return to Australia, and will give a song recital in the Grand Opera House on Monday, 12th • October, when an exceptionally interesting programme will be presented. Mr. Kirby, who is amongst the front rank singers of our day, was born in Auckland, and will be well remembered as one of Madame Melba's concert party on her first tour of New Zealand. Four years' subsequent study in Italy hadresults which have enabled him to earn unstinted praise from. leading Continental and English critics upon his many public appearances. His voice is recognised as one of unusual sweetness and fulness, and is under perfect control. Further details of the concert will be duly announced.
