The Giornale d' ltalia hag received a telegram from Basle reporting that Germany has asked Switzerland for permission to send three army corps across Swiss territory. Switzerland emphatically refused. The message also states that the Italian Government is prepared Ito defend Swiss neutrality. Germany recently threatened Italy for even showing signs of abandoning neutrality. ■
