— o» Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Wellington, report having held their monthly sale at the Otaki yards on Tuesday, when good yardings of sheep and heavy yardings of cattle came forward. Buyers attended in large numbers, and from the commencement spirited bidding took place, this being maintained right up to Uie end of the salel There was an exceptionally keen demand for sheep, especially so for hoggets. We had some very nice pens of woolly hoggets to offer, and these brought up to 18s lid. In cattle the strongest demand was for steers. The prices recorded were right through in favour of sellers. Our principal sales were as under: — Woolly hoggets 15s 2d, 18s 2d, 18s 7d, 18s lid ; cattle, mixed yearlings, £2 2s to £2 3s 6d ; weaners, 20s to £1 Us ; two and ahalf to three-year steers, £4 11s to £6 ; store cows, £5 10s to £4 10s ; light fat cows (good enquiry), £7 to £7 15s ; empty heifers, good, £5 to £6 : medium, £3 los. A lavge entry of dairy heifers came forward, and bidding for this class of stock was rather inclined to drag. Sales were effected at from £4 to £6 18s. JJwlU,^,
