HATAITAI BOWLING CLUB

The annual meeting of the Hataitai Bowling Club was held in the club's pavilion on Wednesday evening, Mr. C. Penney in the chair. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted, and j credit was given to the .directors for j the improved financial position of the j club for' the past year. Several members were desirous that a further improvement should be made by the members availing themselves of the debenture system instituted by the treasurer durhig the past season. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr. J. Rhodes; secretary, Mr. G. Hendry; treasurer, Mr. J. W. Kinniburgh; directors, Messrs. J. Cheeseman, C. Penney, G. Julius, and G. Nasmith ; auditor, Mr. Edwards; social committee, Messrs. Nasmith, Anstey, D. Claridge, Pilkington, M'Kittrick, and J. Cheeseman. A motion by Mr. G. Halliday that a selection committee of three be appointed was carried, and the following were appointed : Messrs. Nasmith, M'Whannell, and Martin. The following delegates were appointed to the Wellington Bowling Centre : Messrs. Lauren3on, Kinniburgh, and Hendry. Thanks were accorded to the retiring ? resident and directors, to the ladies J or their assistance during the past season, and also to the entertainment committee and Captain Light for his valuable help in providing musical enter--tainment during the winter.
