- BY GERMAN CRUISER. (Received September 24, 11 a.m.) FREMANTLE, This Day. . Passengers by the Puroo from Singapore report that the City of Lincoln was sunk off Pennng (Straits Settlements) by a_ German cruiser. The passengers were given twenty-five minutes to leave the ship. [The City of Lincoln was a steel screw steamer of 5867 tons, built in 1911 for the Ellerman Line, Ltd.]
