PTOMAINE POISONING

HAWERA, This Day. _ A Native named Kau a to Rangi, residing at Ketemarac Pa, Normanby, died on _ Sunday morning, the result of ptomaino poisoning. Ho had eaten crayhsh. At tho inquest on Tuesday Dr. MacDiarmid stated that ptomaine germs developed very quickly in hot weather, and it was -dangerous to partake of shell fish unless they were perfectly fresh. Crayfish and mussels wero particularly liable to bo aiEected. Ho urged tho Natives to bo very careful. He gave evidence that tho cause of death was ptomaine poisoning. A verdict was returned in accordance with the medical testimony.
