I The Marine Department., proceeded against Walter Hadley in ' the Magistrate's Court, yesterday, for removing I sand from the beach at; Happy Valley between, high and low water marks. He pleaded not guilty, stating, that he took the sand fr6m a spot fuilher up the beach than the high«-water -"mark. Mr. D. G. A. Cooper,' S.M., entered a conviction and imposed a fine oJ 5s with costs.
