HUTT AND PETONE LADIES' HELP
The energy displayed b» the ladies of Lower Hutt, together with the excellent response made by residents, has resulted in tho total sum of £318 being collected in aid of the Countess of Liverpool Defence Fund. Some time ago the local treasurer forwarded the first instalment, namely £200. on to' headquarters, and to-day the balance was handed over to the treasurer of the Fund. Messrs. E. Johnston and Co. advertise a v sale of furniture, including a sewing machine, at the residence, T?CGrs-6tre<3t (off Macdonald-street), Karori, on Monday, commencing at 1.30. Th© Public Service Tender Board invites tenders for the supply and delivery of certain material set out in an advertisement in this is&ue.
