AUSTRIAN CENTRE RETREATING RUSSIANS ATTACK STRONGHOLD (Received September 10, 10 a.m.) PETROGRAD, 9th September. Official.— Fighting was in progress throughout Sunday along the whole of the Austrian battle front. In the centre, the Austrian Army is retreating. , In the Rawa Russka district, north-westward of Lemberg, there has been desperate fighting with large Austrian forces. The Russians are attacking an Austrian stronghold near Gobodok, on the left bank of the Vistula. The Russian offensive has had favourable results.
