RETURN OF H.M.S. PSYCHE
THE GROUNDING OF THE MONOWAI TONGA'S NEUTRALITY. (II TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) ' AUCKLAND, This Day. H.M.S. Psyche returned this morning from Samoa. According to Captain Marshall the landing of .the troops at Samoa was a particularly smart piece of work. The grounding of the Monowai was due to the steering gear failing at the critical moment. The captain oi the Monowai was not blameable. On the voyage back the Psyche called at NaA-ua, where the British and, German residents, living in perfect friendliness, were unaware of Avar between the two countries. The King of Tonga gave an assurance of neutrality.
