SALE OF FLOWERS

Quantities of beautiful flowers were on sale on Saturday in aid of the fund, Lady Godley arranging for a very large supply of most lovely blopsoms from the Wairarapa, liawkes Bay, Manawatu, and other places. The ladies of the Star Boating Committee again were the sellei's, and splendid business was done, the prices not being exorbitant, the goods of the highest quality, and the cause most excellent. Archibald, B. Ling (Otaki), Schwartz, Broderick, B. Smith. E, Howell. C. Hill, C. B. Trimneil, Bellevue Gardens, Mason's Gardens, and the schoolchildren of Paraparaumu. The commitee was grateful for the loan of the following cars : — Lady Kelburn, Mrs. Fulton, Miss Pearson; Messrs. Bucholz, E. Johnston, Wallace, and Richardson ; and tc Messrs. Craig and Co. for the loan of bowls, Messrs. Guerney Bros, for baskets, and Magnus, Sanderson, and Co., for flower-tins. Altogether £87 8s Id was raised, £10 17s Id being the result of the sale of button-holes to the Savages, whose lair was invaded by the fair vendors on Saturday evening. Up to date the sale of flowers amounts to £154.
