(By "Vanguard.") A DRAWN GAME. HOSPITAL v. CORINTHIANS. .The meeting of tnese teams last Saturday again, proved a splendid struggle, the issue being in doubt until the whistle sounded for timo. In the- earlier portion of the game Corinthians had much the best of it, but at the finish Hospital wore running all over tha city mon, swid a score seemed a certainty on several occasions. The strong feature of the Corinthians' pl*y was in the dash shown by their forwards, who are undoubtedly a fine lot. They did not waste any time "etep dancing," but when in possession, at once ■ made for goal. They were on the top of their form the minute the whistle signalled the start, and evidently took Hospital b£ surprise. They scored their two goale " in the early stages of the first half, and' then- the home tea-m seemed to realise the big hurdle they had to face. The first score came from ono of Gibson'6 characteristic dashes, which are always dangerous. His shot was a good one, well timed a-nd judged. The second goal was one of those goals that cause an immense amount of argument on fcho bank, and for some time after the match. Some itlLego that it was Tank offside, other just as stoutly maintain thai "ho was 'on side,' easy." Tho fact remains that tho referee was satisfied it wa9 a. goal, bo that, of course, is the end of it. Before tho end of the spell Hughes reduced the gap by scoring a fine goal for Hospital. The secou'd half was mostly in favour of Hospital, but they were up against a solid defence, which included some wonderful goaJkeoping on tho part of Colin Webster. The writer has soon Webster play many a good game in. seasons past, but cannot remember his putting up suoh a fino performance as ho did last Saturday. Ho undoubtedly saved Corinthians in the second half. When Hospital did equalise, with a good ehot from Daily, the game became more exciting than over. Tne homo team were fighting tike tigers to get through, and the last ten lniwutcs waa well worth watching. Corinthians, although fchoy appeared to bo weakening, played splendidly, and managed to prevent a bcoto. The moating of those teams to-day in th© fin*l for the Charity Cup should provide a l'Ofcl good "ffo. -
