The heavy rain of yesterday afternoon was followed by a calm spell. More, wind is probable from the south, and in many parts southerly gales may bo expected. According to the official forecast, tho weather promises to be cold and showery, aud the temperature to-night will be very low. Very 'heavy seas have been reported on all the western coast. THE RUAHINE ,*. t The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Ruahinb from London to New Zealand ports is not over due at tho Cape as has been reported. As a matter of fact she was not to call at the Capo of Good Hope on this passage. There i« no reason known why the Ruahinc should not mako her appearance in New Zealand well up to time.,
