HIDE AND SKIN MARKET

WAR AND LOWER PRICES. The usual local skin and hide sales felt the full force of war prices yesterday. Nevertheless, there was a marked drop in prices all round attributable solely to the disturbance of the world's markets by the war. Hides were down l^d per pound. Sixty pound hides which brought ityd to 9^d per pound before the war, realised but bd, and this was a fall of '£d per pound since war broke out.
