TRADES AND LABOUR REUNION
■» The Trades and Labour Council held a Labour reunion in the Burlington Tearooms last evening. There was a large attendance, and Mr. J. M'Kenzie, president of the council, was in the chair. Those present included the Hon. J. T. Paul, M.L.C., and Messrs. J. Payne, J. M'Combs, W. A. Veitch, A. H. Hindmarsh, P. C. Webb, and J. Robertson, M.P.'s. Apologies for' absence were received from the Prime Minister (the Right Hou. W. F. Massey) and Sir Joseph Ward, Leader of the Opposition. The Hon. J. T. Paul, in proposing the toast of "Trades and Labour Councils," said the time was not far distant when Labour must be united in this country, and the Trades and Labour Councils would have a great deal to do with uniting it. Mr. John Read, secretary of the Federation of Labour, who proposed the toast of "Parliament," urged th»-t Labour must stand together equally as , much on the political field as the ilidus- ' trial field. 1 Other toasts honoured were 'The Army and Kavy'» and "The Building j Trades."
