PATRIOTIC FUNDS
PRIME MINISTER'S LIST. The Prime Minister has received the following further contributions to the patriotic fund :—: — £ s. d.
The Ohariu school children have decided that the proceeds of a concert which was held on Wednesday in aid of their prize fund should be devoted to the Belgian Fund. For the Carnival to be held at th© Basin Reserve on Wednesday next, 9th instant, in aid_ of the Patriotic Fund, the Rugby Union has been asked to arrange an "Old Timers' Football Match." The teams will consist of fifteen, a-side and will be played in two, spells of fifteen minutes each. The following committee has been set up to arrange a match : — Messrs. A. Laurenson, W. Perry. D. Weir, G. H. Dixon, Ei 0. Hales, E. t Wylie. '- " The ladies of Lower Hutt have collected to date the sum of £32? 19s 6d towards the Countess of Liverpool's fund. Additional donations to those already | published are as follow : — H. Peterkin, £5 ss ; a Sympathiser, £20 ; Mr. Rasmussen, £10; E. P. Bunny, £5; J. Brasell, £2 2s; Mrs. Parsons, £2 2s; H. E. At a meeting' of the .trustees of the Lower Hutt Methodist Church, it was' decided to offer an acre of land in tho vicarage grounds ior potato planting purposes. %
