PRICES OF PRODUCE
The New Zealand Farmers' Co-opera-tive Distributing Company reports that very large consignments of potatoes are coming forward from the South, and ac stocks are also heavy, values are lower than la&t week. The' uncertainty of military requirements keeps the market in. an unsettled condition, but it would look as if lower values would rule. Seed potatoes, only fair business is passing, Up-to-Dates and Gamekeepers being the lines mest enquired for. Porkers are very scarce, and there is keen enquiry. Slag, the price has hardened considerably owing to the war. Superphosphates, the market is much firmer, and in sympathy with other imported manures, has advanced in price. Wheat, the southern market is very firm, and there is not a great quantity offering ; the demand, however, has eased off owing to the high price. Barley, there is no change to report, and values remain the same. Oats have advanced in price, and are very firm at market quotations. Seed oats, theie" is fair enquiry. Seed wheat, white TiiFcan is being enquired for. Chaff, values are very firm, but buyers are only operating from hand to- mouth. Cauliflowers are plentiful, and are selling freely. Cabbages aie scarce, and are realising very high rates. All root vegetables are selling at advanced prices*
