G. A. Cooper, S.M., imposed a fine of 5s with costs. Very little business was transacted at the monthly meeting of the Governors of the Wellington Boys' and Gills' Colleges to-day. The only membeire pre* sent were the chairman (Mr. A. De B, Brandon)) the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), and Mr. W. H. Field. Accounts totalling £586 6s 2d for the Boys' College and £412 9s for the Girls 1 College were passed for payment, and authority was given to the chairman to make an ap' poihtnient to the Boys' College staff, m place of Mr. Cross, who has gone to the tront. Another big batch of Territorials were summoned to appear before Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court to-day, but his Worship intimated that he did not intend to take them during the present crisis. Inspector Hendrey commented on the fact that a small majority of the Territorials summoned were taking advantage of his Worship's decision to adjourn the caseß sine die. A few of them, he Baid, "were absolute sluggards," and had neither signed on for the Expeditionary Force nor made regular attendances at their drill. It was not desired that these should go free. The Magistrate said he regretted that some young fellows were taking advantage of his decision. He agreed with Inspector Heni drey that the authorities should pick on some future drill, and proceed with the informations against those who were not present at that drill. Mr. Cooper said he would be prepared to hear thosa ■case*. The adjourned action in which James George Bruce and George Hunt Gray, wharf labourers, Wellington, seek an injunction against the executive of the WeiRilgton Wharf Labourers' Industrial Union of Workers restraining it from employing a,ny other person than Charles A. E. Purdey ajs secretary ahd making any payments out of the funds to any other member of tl*e union than C. A. K. Purdey was set down for hearing at the Supreme Court this morning betore his Honour Mr. Justice Edwards, but vvas adjourned sine die without being called after the judge and counsel had conferred. The defendants cited in the case are : —Joseph S. Radclift'e (president), T. J. Sadd, Hugh Callaglum, Archibald Black, W. Chandler, James | Shand, E.. Murphy, members of the cxc« cutive of the. union, and E. J. Jones (the present secretary). Affidavits ia support of the injunction have been liled by J. G. Bruce, C. A. E, Purdey. and A. Black. Sir John Findlay, K.C., is counsel for the plaintiffs, and Mr. H. F. Yon Haaet for the defendants. At a meeting of the Wellington Lacrosee Association it was decided to close the competition, and to award the Proud Cup to Kelburn. Capitol aro the rumiers-up. The season will be wound up by a smoke concert early next month.
