MEN FOR THE FRONT
The question was asked of the Minister of Defence by Mr. T. K. Sidey in Parliament last evening what arrangements had been made for the payment to wives, mothers, or other dependents and relatives of members of the Expeditionary Force of such portion of pay as had been allocated. He particularly referred to members of the force who had already left. The Minister said, he < was not sure whether every member of the Advance Guard had signed a document allotting a certain portion of his pay to his wife or other dependents. In regard to fue main body every care had been taken that allocation of pay or other provision should be made by every member of the force to dependents. Members were also called, upon to make provision for debts, and ,for keeping alive insurance policies. Every single member of the force had received these instructions.
