TRANSPORT MOTOR-WAGONS
Following is a copy of a telegram sent to, the Prime Minister: " We' have nine large Thornycroft transport motorwagons on board the Remuera, due to arrive in Wellington on ' the 20th, and we have also four additional wagons in stock. We have pleasure in offering the Government the use of the whole or any number , that may be required unreservedly during the present crisis. This morning we received a cable from Thornycroft's, London, that the British Government had prohibited the export of any more of their transport wagons during the present trouble. — (Signed) Hatrick and Co." The Premier has replied as follows : " On behalf of the Government^ I desire most warmly to express our appreciation of the loyal and patriotic offer of Thornycroft motor transport wagons intimated in your telegram received last /evening. I have haa great pleasure in handing your telegram to the Defence authorities, and in the event of v their being required a notification will be sent to you by them in due course."
One of the members of the first New Zealand Expeditionary Force is Mr. G. M. Wilford. son of Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P. Mr. Wilford, Jun., who is .1 field engineer, served for number of yt'ara at Home, where ho lose to the position of BUIgCHUt.
