HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL

The monthly meeting of the Hutt County Council was held yesterday, those present being Councillors M. W. Welch (chairman), J. Wakeham, T. Edwards, J. Whitenun, and W. J. Howell. Councillor Galloway's motion, urging that the resolution passed on 14th July last, instructing the inspector to proceed with the erection of danger signals under the 1 motor bylaws, be revoked, was lost on the voices. No action was taken in regard ta a request for better lighting arrangements on the Normandale-road. A complaint regarding drains and drainage at Day's Bay was deferred to the Health Inspector. The | Wellington Automobile Glub wrote, asking that the road between, Upper Hutt and Lower Hutt be metalled. No action was taken.
