AEROPLANE RIDDLED BY BULLETS.
(Received August 11, 8 a.m.) PARIS, 10th August. During the French advance on Alt. lurch a French aeroplane was riddled by bullets. The aviator was wounded in the thigh, but reached Belfort, the fortified town on the Savoureuse, 1 35 miles west by north of Basle. TO DELAY FRENCH ADVANCE ON METZ. GERMAN ENDEAVOUR. (Received August 11, 8 a.m.) LONDON, 10th August. The Pall Mall Gazette publishes an official message to the effect that the Germans are trying to inundate the 'Seille Valley, in Alsace-Lorraine, in order to delay the French advance on Metz.
