AMAZING ENTERPRISE
GERMAN SCOUTS. PONTOON BRIDGE SH6T AWAY BY BELGIANS. (Received August 11, 10.5 a.m.) BRUSSELS, 10th August. The enterprise of the Germans scoute was amazing. One prisoner rode seventy kilometres. Their method is to ride in small parties with the object of seizing the passage of the Meuse. None of their attempts succeeded. A German pontoon bridge across the Meuse was shot away. The Nineteenth and Twenty-fifth Regiments, whioh were supporting the bridge builders, were mown down by the quickfiring guns. Forty thousand Belgian volunteers who offered to serve have been "formed into twenty special regiments.
