MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Police cases at tho Magistrate's Court to-day were taken before Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M. For drunkenness, Frederick Wilson was fined 20s, in default three days in gaol, and Peter Martin and John Sullivan were both fined 10s, with tho alternative of 48 hours' imprisonment. Two first offenders were convicted and discharged. John Power, alias O'Brien, alias Maloney, was remanded until the 18th on a charge of stealing 30- plugs of tobacco and 1 tin of tobacco from Hop Fook Chong. For a breach of tho peace, Daniel Cassidy and Thomas Watson— the latter a N&val Reservist who has not yot reported himself— were both lined 10s. Cassidy was fined £2, in default fourteen days in gaol, for tho use of obsceno language, and aleo penalised in a fine of £1 or seven days jn custody for resist' ing wrest.
