It will surprise many people to learn tha. the quantity ol gold entered for exportation from New Zealand from lbt April, 1857, to 30th June last, was no less than 21.061.563 ounces valued at £82,757.259, made up as follows: — Otago, 7,430.786 ounces, £29,559,960 ; Auckland. 5,yi3,297 ounces, £22.555,432 ; West Coast. 5.890,203 ounce*, £23,404,' 184; Kelson. 1,731.297 ounces, £6,863.996; Miu'lborough, 93,402 ounces, £363,754; .Wellington, 188 ounces, £706; Canterbury, 99 ounces. £587; unknown, 229 i ounces, £8839. The duty on gold exported. Urn produce of the North Jr. laud, is 2* 3d per ounce, and on tho produce of the .South Island 3d \\>r ounce. Theie is no export duly on jewellers' ftud deutifets' Bweejuugs. ' ~ V
