The latter couW not raiso his arm more than a fow inches. A man with Rheumatio Grout in tho hand, who could not close his first, completed the fiist trio. Profeesor Wright, a nurso, and an attendant then set the machines to work. ' "The three men submitted quietly to the 'operations of tho machine fqr over five minutes, taking the whole matter with that seriousness which tho fame of the Veedee merited. The crowd loudly applauded as the patients demonstrated what good effects had been achieved. Tho old man who harboured Sciatica, for nine years walked about the stage without sticks, and bowed his acknowledgments to the crowd. Professor Wright then tried a eeintic patient of 13 years, standing, and another patient who suffered from Rhoumatio Gout. The latter was a. bad case. He had had 20 years of it, and the chairman pointed out that perhaps it would be difficult to iroat; tho oaso. They would do their be-4. Meantime, operations were suspended while a man deaf in the left ear was spoken to, and obviously could nofc hear what was being said. The Sciatica man (18 years' standing) did a semi-tango, and informed th© audience that ho had not walked like that for live years. The 20 years' case man Baid ho was very satisfied indeed with the result of the treatment. "A prominent manufacturer (sciatica for fivo years), and another half-deaf man, and a sufferer from Rheumatism on the knee for three % years, were the next trio. Tho machines were set in motion again, while, nmazet^ at the evident results achioved, the eick and the halt hobbled up to tho platform from all parts of the crowded building.
