MISCHA ELMAN AT THE TOWN HALL.
Ihe box plaai lor the first of tlio two concerts of Mischa Elman. described as the world's greatest violinist, to be given here on Thursday and Saturday of next wf>ek at the Town Hall (2nd and 4th July), opens at the Dresden Piano Company to-morrow morning at 9 o'clock. Thp applications for the advanced booking am very good. The piogramme for tho opening concert here will comprise the Symphony Espagnole (Lalo), Allegro non troppo. Andante, and Rondo (allegro): Aiv on (i x String (Bach) j Etude Capiicp (Paganini), Faust Fantasie (Wie- ( niawski), and the bracketed numbers : Aye Maria (Schubert- Wilhelmj), Hun- ' garian Dance No. 7 (Brahms-Joachim), . Siciliennc et Rigaudon (Couperin-Kreis-IH. and Souvonir. do Moscow (Wieniawski). Mile. Eva Gauthier, tho Frenchp Canadian sopiano,, who is the vocalist of J the party, will re'iiiler at the opening , concert the Aria de Rosina (Barbiere do Seviglia) by Rossini, and the bracketed numbers "Tho Doito" (Landon Ronald), , "Psyche" (E. Paladihle), and "Bokio'' (T)pßsauer) Mr. Percy Kahn, who has' been with Elman for the past six years, is the_ jjianist of the party. Elman gave j a similar programme at his opening conI eel't in Melbourne, and the Age critic there wrote of the occasion as ''a triumph for Mißcha F.lmaii." The critic added: i "Hi 6 claim to greatness is securely based upon the solid rock of absolute music. It is a$ an aitist that Kiman comos to us, and so great an artist that the future will link his name with those of Joachim and Ysaye.". "THE ROSARY." To-night the "Roeaiy" will make its initial appearance in New Zealand at the Grand Opera House under the direction of George Willonghby, Ltd., and E. J. Can-oil (in conjunction). It ia claimed by the management that ft?.w actors have won for themselves a more enviable reputation op the stage thaiv Mr. Harrirgton Reynolds, who will appear to-night la "The Rosary." To the part of Father Kelly Mr. Reynolds brings the physical and mental qualifications that make him particularly adapted to tho part. He will bo supported by Miss Jessie Arnold (who playe the part of the twins), Mr. Albert M 'Govern, Mr. Walter Fenner, Mr. George Nolan Leary, Mr. Paul Byron, ana the Misses Grace Reading, and Ethel Eldred. All of these were engaged in "The Rosarj V original production. The box plan is open at the Dresden, aaid day sales are at Christeson'e. STAR THEATRE. NEWTOWN. There was an excellent attendance last evening when the dramas "Love's Sunset" and "The Tell Tale Stai" were Well received.
