Middlesex made 501 runs for one wicket, and de- j clared its innings closed. Hearne, who knocked up 204 runs, reached his thou- | sand runs in first-ciass mcKet this season. Lancashire made 236 in the first innings, and have lost one wicket for 32 in the second. i Against Yorkshire, Warwickshire secured 428 runs for the loss of only Q wickets, and declared. Charlesworth contributed 206 runs. In the match with Essex, Surrey won by seven wickets. Hitch took sof the Essex wickets for 40 runs, and Rnshby 5 for 42.
