Numbers of refrigerating works are at a standstill, and many slaughtermen are idle. A shortage and the high price of stock are the causes. TRADE ALMOST AT A STANDSTILL. {Received June 17, 12.10 p.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The meat -exporting trade is practically at a standstill. Many slaughtermen are idle. The lack of production and the high prices ruling for such stock as is available are responsible for the stagnation.
