FAR NORTH REFORM LEAGUE
BAY OF ISLANDS SEAT. , (»r TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATOX.) RUSSELL, Tliis .Day. , As an outcome of Mr. Veraon Reed's meeting, held at Russell recently, a new Reform League has been started, with headquarters at Russell. Various other centres have been communicated with, with the result that over twenty branches have been established. The name of the league is the Far North Reform League, and tho area is the Bay of Islands electorate. • The main objects of the league is to leave tho selection of the R/eform candidate in the hands of the Prime Minister. Mr.' Henry S. Ludbrook, chairman of the Bay of Islands Reform League, writes to the Auckland Herald :—": — " In the Herald of 10th June there appeared a statement, 'That for the past few months a quiet struggle has been going on between the Dominion Executive of the Reform League and the Bayi of Islands branch as to who is to be the ofticial Reform candidate.' In my position as chairman of -the executive of the Reform League for the Bay of Islands electorate, 1 wish to cay that no struggle has taken place between the Dominion Executive and the Bay of Islands branch, and the Dominion Executive has not intimated to this branch that it favours Mr. V, H. Reed."
