A WARM ADVOCATE
FOR CADET TRAINING. SIR IAN HAMILTON CONVINCED. An important statement regarding cadet training was" made by Sir lan Hamilton, Inspector-General of the Overseas Forces, to an Evening Post reporter last evening. The General was j asked : "You are opposed to compulsory military training in JMigland as applied to adults. What have you to say of the cadet training in Australia and New I Zealand? Would you advocate it for England '!" "Yes, warmly, in the full conviction 1 that 1 was doing a patriotic act," replied [ Sir lan. "One of the main objections I to compulsion disappears entirely in the case of cadets who are and have been since the days of Solomon subject to compulsion. When I say that, I mean compelled to go to school and so forth."
