WATERSIDERS AND THEIR DIFFERENCES
"VICTORY FOR OLD UNIONISTS." TIMARU, 22nd May. The first annual meeting of the Timaru Waterside Union (Arbitrationist), which was formed after the strike last year (before tho general strike), was held last night, and lasted till midnight. The principal results were the election of new officers, some of them being members of the former union which struck. It was ordered that the accounts of the late executive be subjected to a special audit. Strong objection was taken by some members to the executive having voted £52 to the secretary, and it was also resolved that the Wanganui Union be advised that the Tiniaru Union does not acknowledge affiliation, this having been arranged by the Timaru executive, not by the union. The result is looked upon as a victory for the old unionists.
