RAILWAY CROSSING ACCIDENT
AUCKLAND, 22nd May. A collision, occurred to-day between a train and a cart at the Onslow-road railway crossing, Kingsland. A baker's cart, driven by Carlton Hepworth, was orossing tho line when a train struck the horse, carrying it with the shafts of the vehicle across the cattle-stops. The horse was killed and the cart was greatly damaged. Hepworth jumped clear, and suffered only minor injuries. This crossing i.s a particulaily dangerous one. A similar accident, with fatal results, occurred there a few months ago.
