RACKED CANTATA

The Methodist Church, Hataitai, was crowded last evening, when the sacred cantata, "Daniel," was given ,by the choir, under the leadership ' of Mr. W. Musker, assisted by Misses Driscoll and B. Brittain, and Messrs. H. Phipps and Hugh Wright. Mrs. Morris presided at the piano. In spite of the fact that the prevailing bad weather had interfered with the rehearsals, the chorus and orchestra rose to tho occasion, and rendered their various parts with spirit and precision. Miss Driscoll as "Queen." Miss B. Brittain "Sister," Sir. H. Phipps "Assariah," Mr. Hugh Wright "King." and Mr. C. Martin, as "Daniel," all did justice to their various parts. By special request the trio, "Our God, our King," sung by Miss Brittain and Messrs. Phipps and C.. Martin, was repeated. The piano used for the occasion was kindly lent by Messrs. F. J. Pinny, Ltd.
