pi itfONTHLY COUNCIL MEETING. A meeting of the council of the Wellington Central Chamber of Commerce was held at the Chamber's Rooms, Winder's Buildings, yesterday afternoon. Mr._ C. M. Luke, president, was in the chair, and there were also present Messrs. A. Leigh Hunt, J. W. Brodie, J. F. Atkins, Geo. Winder, and W. Smith. A letter was -received from the Department of Agriculture regarding tho possible removal of the prohibition of the export of rejected tow and asking for suggestions re the grading of hemp. It was decided to forward the letter to the members of the chamber interested. It was decided to hold a meeting of the council as a committee on Bth June to consider proposed amendments of the Bankruptcy and Companies Acts, and to draw up remits for submission to the forthcoming Local Bodies Conference.
