TRAMWAY MANAGEMENT TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, — It is about time we had better management of our city tramway service. I am a frequent traveller between rhorndon Station and Courtenay-place, and at no time during my experience do the authorities that bo attend to train connection in a business-like manner. Last Friday night, a very wet and stormy one, one car only met the NewPlymouth train, which was only able to take a very small part of its passengers. The accommodation in that oar was so ciowded that it was impossible to collect all fares, the writer noticed two ' who did not pay. On the particular night there was no question of other cars hot being available, at Cecil Hotel corner six empty cars were standing idle. Then, again, may I point out this particular car I had the misfortune to take landed me at the top of Cuba-street, yet the printed notice at each end of the 'car read, " Newtown, via Courtenay-pkce," my destination. Surely something can be done to wake up these higlily-paid tramway officials. My complaint is nob an isolated one, but one of frequent occurrence.—l am, etc., RATEPAYEE. 16th May, 19] 4.
