FINGER-PRINT EVIDENCE HABITUAL CRIMINAL SENTENCED.
(BT TELBORAPH— PRESS 1 ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Finger-print evidence in the Supreme Court pioved Albert Gordon Smith, up on charges of burglary, to have been an habitual Australian criminal. He was sentenced te five years' imprisonment. When 'arrested he had a revolver, cartridges, electric flash lamp, and burglars' gloves in his possession.
The monthly meeting of the Edu ration Bo» r d will be held next Friday afternoon, 22nd, insteid of the following Tuesday, 26th. This will be the last board meeting at which Mr.' R. Lee ■wij] preside. Jvlr. A. Cowles, first assistant at the Wellington Training College, who has been appointed headmaster of the Carterton School, vice Mr. A. N. Burns, transferred to the Hutt, will take up his new duties on Ist June.
