BRANCH RAILWAY FROM FEILDING
MINISTER'S REPLY TO REQUEST. (IZ TBLKQRIPH.— PRSIg ASSOCIATION.) FEILDING, This Day. The Hon. W. Fraser was welcomed yesterday by school children and the Chamber of Commerce at Apiti. In reply to deputations asking for a branch I railway from Feilding, the Minister said he ,was agreeably surprised at the vast extent of country waiting for thorough development. He recognised tliat until thoy Had good railway communication it would be impossible to find profitable markets for produce. Although he could not pledge the construction of a line, ho would undertake to have a survey made for a light line of railway, and i would try individually to obtain for I them their heart's desire.
