SENT TO PRISON
SIX MONTHS' SENTENCE SUFFRAGETTE WHO DAMAGED A PORTRAIT. (By Teleiraph.— Press Association.— Copyrlfiht.) (Receivd May 14, 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, 13th May. The suffragette, May Ansell, who yesterday damaged at the Royal Academy Herkomer's portrait of the Duke of Wellington, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment. INCITEMENT TO MALICIOUS DAMAGE. CHARGE AGAINST A PUBLISHER. (Received May 14, 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, 13th May. Granville Derew appeared in the Police Court on a charge of publishing the Suffragette newspaper on 22nd January last, thereby causing incitement to malicious damage to property. The hearing of the case was adjourned.
