During her voyage up the East Coast, while engaged in visiting the various lighthouses and carrying out trawling experiments, the Government steamer Hinemoa encountered some very rough weather. She arrived off the East Cape on Friday morning last, but owing to the heavy sea running there, ail attempts to land stores at the lighthouse had to be' abandoned. As the weather showed signs of becoming ' worse, the Hinemoa proceeded to Hick's Bay, where she sheltered until Saturday. The wind then began to blow fresh from the south-east, and the vessel went to Te Araroa Bay, where she lay at anchor until Monday morning. Prom Saturday until Monday it blew a hard gale from the south-east and south-weßt, accompanied by a heavy thunderstorm, vivid lightning and rain squalls. Another attempt was made to land stores at East Cape Island on Monday, but the sea was still too rough to permit of a landing, and the Hinemoa accordingly went on to Auckland, landing stores at Cuvier and Tirltiri lighthouses on the way. She sailed for East Cape Island this morning. LONG VOYAGE FOR SYDNEY-BUILT STEAMER.
