' They declare that only complete _ occupation of the country by Americans will solve the difficulties con» fronting the present make-shift Government. It is not thought for a single intant that General Huerta will agree to the peace project. They point out that Huerta is merely playing a waiting* game. AN ARMISTICE RESTORATION OF PEACE. PROSPECTS HAVE GREATLY INCREASED. • WASHINGTON, Ist May. ' General Huerta has formally agreed ' to an armistice while the South American Republics are exercising their good offices. The State Department at Washington thinks that with General Carranza's undertaking to a similar effect, the probabilities of the restoration of peace ill Mexico ha.ye greatly increased. NEW YORK, 30th April. The South American Republics nta asking, their European Ministers to bring before the European Governments the necessity for their friendly co-operation in securing peace in Mexico.
